My Love Story Part 1
Yesterday, my hunk of a husband started his last first day of school. He is finally going to be graduating!!! I am so stinkin excited! It is very possible that I am more excited than he is. It has been a long four years. I've just been reminiscing about the start of our relationship and our love story in general. You can have a lot of time to think when you're up for 3 am feedings ;)
Our story seems like a typical Utah Mormon love story, but I still love it!
I was going to school and living in Wyoming when my aunt suggested I move in with her and work in Utah for the summer. Man did that sound like a great idea to me! I had just broken up with a boyfriend and dateable boys were lacking and so I was eager to check out the action.
I was super excited to go to my first singles ward Family Home Evening. I showed up 15 minutes early and no one was there....Suuupppper awkward.... Making small talk isn't really my forte. But the activity finally got started and everyone was introducing themselves and that's when I saw him. Cute Mr. David Prusse who had just gotten off of his mission and was already working two jobs. He sure did catch my eye! We didn't get a chance to chat, but I was going to remember him for next time. And I did see him at church the next Sunday! He was wearing this blue tie that really brought out his striking eyes. Dang he is a cutie!!!! Again....I didn't get a chance to talk to him. But I went to ward prayer that night in hopes that I might see him again.
And as I walked up, there he was. Perfectly positioned with two empty chairs on either side of him. So I moseyed over and sat by him. We caught each other's eye and smiled and I said, "Hey! I'm Amber. What's your name?" He said, "I'm David." And then I asked him what his story was. We then talked all through the different spiritual thoughts and musical numbers about our favorite Marvel super heroes and life and we couldn't stop! Luckily it was my birthday the next day, so he said that he would take me out for it. Some Cafe Rio, bowling and Lehi Days did the trick. I was hooked on this kid.
3 am came way too soon and its a really good thing no one waited up for me that summer, because they would have not gotten a lot of sleep! The next day, I met his best friends and his family, without him because he was at work. But now his best friends are my best friends and his family is now my family so that all worked out despite how awkward it was.
That weekend I had a wedding to go to back in Cheyenne and my car had a history.... So this cute guy that I had just met offered to road trip with me back to Cheyenne to make sure I got there safely. And luckily we did make it there with no break downs. We had a blast!
He told me that he loved me that weekend. I couldn't help but say that I loved him too. It was too short of a summer and full of love <3.
Well, that is the story of how we met! I'll be posting more of our love story another time.
Basically I love love!!! Anyone else love their love story? Share with me!!
